Linovision EOC-Converter is a combination of Power over Coax (PoC) and Ethernet over Coax (EOC) converter. With proprietary ePOE technology, it is designed to transmit both PoE power and ethernet data over coaxial cables or twisted pair cables, including siamese cable, CATV cable, power cable, Cat5E/Cat6, etc. The max transmission distance can be 3,300ft. It is super useful to upgrade the analog camera system to an IP surveillance system without replacing legacy coaxial cables. Reason 2 Long Reach PoE up to 3,300ft
There are some situations in that users need to transmit PoE power and data over ultra-long distances, for example, power a remote security camera from 500 meters (or 1,640ft) away (from one building to another building), or supply power to a PoE IoT device from one side to another side of an underwater tube. The regular PoE extender will extend 100 meters only. Linovision innovative EOC solution, it makes possible to transmit PoE power and data over max. 1,000 meters (or 3,300ft) through regular Cat5e or Cat6 cable, this will reduce thousands of dollars in cabling cost.

EOC Transmission Performance
This chart of transmission performance is based on regular RG59 coaxial cable and powered by standard DC48V POE injectors.
The performance will be better when using RG6 cable or DC53V POE injectors.
This EOC transmitter and receiver can transmit up to 100Mbps network data and load max 11W POE device in 300 meters (or 1,000ft).
The network bandwidth will be automatically lowered to 10Mbs over 1,000ft and the max transmission distance is 3,280ft. This bandwidth is still sufficient for single 4K IP camera.

The 2023 version EOC converter supports POE IP data transmission over twist pair cables, such as Cat5E/Cat6 cable, power line, RS485 cable, etc. BNC to Twist pair connectors are required in this connection. This function is widely used in elevator applications.

Use good quality IEEE802.3at 30W PoE switch to provide POE power to our EOC-Receiver, preferred with the DC53V input voltage, instead of regular 48V input voltage. Please also check the PoE budget of the PoE Switch, and make sure that the port individually can output 30W PoE power. (Most PoE Switches in the market do not support all ports at 30W POE output). Use point-to-point direct coaxial cable. The cable and connector quality will heavily affect the transmission distance. Please make sure to connect EOC-Receiver to the POE switch, and then connect the PoE cameras to the EOC-Transmitter side. The PoE output from the EOC-Transmitter is PoE mode A (use Pin 1,2,3, 6 for both data and power). If your PoE device is PoE mode B, please use our POE-Splitter or PoE-Extender02. The PoE output is standard IEEE802.3af/at PoE, and not compatible with 24V passive PoE devices.

Q.What kind of cables can be connected between EOC transmitter and EOC receiver?
It can transmitter ethernet data and POE power over coaxial cables, twist pair cables, power cables, video cables or almost any two-pin cables.
Q.Can multiple devices be connected via single coaxial cable?
Yes, one pair of EOC converter can be used to transmit multiple device over single coaxial cable with NVR/POE switch/WI-FI AP. The connection will be multiple device -> NVR/POE switch/WI-FI AP -> EOC Transmitter -> Coaxial cable ->EOC Receiver -> POE NVR/POE Switch/POE Injector with internet. Please note that the EOC receiver has to be connected to an POE NVR or POE Switch to be powered.
Q.Will this work for extending connectivity between a router and an Ethernet switch? Or extending WIFI?
Yes. But you need a POE injector in EOC receiver side to provide power to EOC receiver and EOC transmitter. It is recommended to use 56V 30W POE injector.
Q.What’s the maximum load capacity of this EOC Converter?
The maximum load capacity is 21W in 300ft transmission which is sufficient to power a regular IP PTZ camera. The load capacity can be at least 11W in 1000ft transmission which is sufficient to power most of IP cameras.
Q.What’s the maximum transmission distance of this EOC Converter?
The maximum transmission distance is 3000ft. Please note that the load capacity will drop down to 4W with general DC48V injector, so it’s recommended to use 60W or 75W poe injector in the receiver side.
Q.What kind of device it can be working with?
It can work with POE devices like IP cameras, POE Wi-Fi AP, VoIP phones, etc. And it can also work with non-POE device like PC/NVR, etc. And you still need a power injector to power the EOC receiver side even though don’t need poe.
Q.What POE standards does this support?
It supports IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3at standard. It can work with most of the IP cameras and mini PTZs in the market, we also have customers use this to power POE WIFI AP and it is working well.
Q.How can I mount them?
It supports DIN Rail installation(Standard 35mm din rail), or you can put it inside a regular camera’s junction box, since it is very small in dimension, that is 3.1” x 2.0” x 0.9”
Q.Why my POE device is offline when working with our EOC (IP Over Coax) Converter?
Several main reasons are as follow: 1. EOC transmitter has to be connected to POE device (IPC/VoIP), and EOC receiver is connected to POE supply device (POE NVR, POESwitch or POE Injector). The reverse connection will not work. 2. It is used for point-to-point coax cable direct connection only, no BNC repeater/T-connect/splitter in the middle. 3. It may be caused by insufficient load capacity. The maximum load capacity is 21W in 300ft transmission which is sufficient to power a regular IP PTZ camera. The load capacity can be at least 11W in 1000ft transmission which is sufficient to power most of IP cameras or VoIP phones. 4. No power supply will also make it fail to work. Please be informed that EOC receiver has to be connected to an POE NVR, POE Switch or POE Injector to be powered.
Works -- but changes MAC address of cam behind (so static IP address assignments no longer work)
The device works. BUT a warning. For some reason it changes the MAC address of the attached camera so that static IP address assignments for the known MAC address of the camera (in the main router) no longer work. Just very odd. I was previously using a more expensive EoC device that did not do this.
I ordered 4 pairs to run Ubiquiti IP cameras over pre-existing coax lines. They've been working perfectly for years without issues, regardless of swings in temps and humidity.
Installed over 100 of cat6, 100 RG6 and 50 RG59 all connected and barreled together. It worked immediately without any issues. This was for a Luma IP 110 series camera. Poe worked well
Works with BNC
Honestly, I can't believe this works. I had old coax/BNC cables from an analog camera and I was not looking forward to rewiring it. I've switched PoIP cameras and did not want to run two separate systems. Once I cut the wire that was going into the old cameras I figured there was no chance this would work. The hardest part was finding the right wire to connect...but once I found it, it just worked. I now have a new IP camera in the old spot. The only thing that is worth noting if it's an issue for you is that the converter is exposed. Meaning someone could tamper with it. It's not a problem for me but could be for someone. Highly recommend.
Good for running POE cameras over RG59.
If you're looking at using this item, you may well have coaxial cable running to a CCTV camera and wanting to put a POE camera at the end of that run.
I have a coax cable run by the builder, and would be unable to run ethernet without tearing down quite a lot of the structure. I used this to install a Ubiquiti POE camera at the end of the run.
I used these to create a coax cable bridge for both ethernet and POE, just as the instructions said. Ubiquiti reports the camera connected at 100 Mbps speed. The POE is connected only at the non-camera end of the run, and powers both transducers as well as the camera.
